FAQ: Who are the Major Die Cast Machine Manufacturers (Die Cast Machine Suppliers)?

What does a Die Cast Machine Cost?

The needs of our international die cast machine customers vary greatly, and whether you need a 250 ton hot chamber die cast machine or a 4,000 ton cold chamber die cast machine, Aluminum, Magnesium, or Brass die cast machine – we can help. Popular die cast machine manufacturers we typically carry include Buhler, Idra, Italpresse, Frech, Prince, HPM, and Weingarten. Additional die cast machine manufacturers include Triulzi, Wotan, Vihorlat, Polak, and Colosio. Asian die cast machine manufacturers we usually stock include Toshiba, Ube, Toyo, LK and Zitai. The die cast machines from these suppliers are used in the Aluminum (Aluminium), Brass, Magnesium, Zamak, Zinc and Lead die cast processes as well as the more exotic die casting processes such as horizontal and vertical squeeze die casting, semi-solid, metal matrix and composite foundry molding (moulding) and casting processes. Our most frequent die cast machine customers in China, India, Japan, Mexico, Australia and Spain require die cast machines with tonnage from 250 to 3,000 tons and larger. FAQ: What is Die Casting?

Die casting is a manufacturing process where molten metal is injected under high pressure into mold cavities. A mold cavity is formed using two hardened steel dies, which have been machined into the desired shape. Once the metal (typically non-ferrous, specifically aluminum, magnesium, zinc, lead, copper, pewter and tin based alloys) is injected into the die, the die is typically placed in a water bath to cool and the die casting is ejected. Based on the type of metal being cast, a cold chamber die cast machine or hot chamber die cast machine will be used. Depending upon the die cast item being produced, there may be thousands made per day. Once the casting equipment and metal dies are paid for, the die casting process is very inexpensive as its simplicity and efficiency lends itself well to high volume production. Die cast components are preferred for their dimensional accuracy and their smooth cast surfaces. Products typically processed through die casting include automotive parts, components of motors and machines, appliances, toys, hardware, golfing products, and aircraft parts.
