DME Company (Madison Heights, Michigan) builds a full line of modular quick change die cast tooling for the die casting industry. In their model line-up the designation DC represents die cast; standard sizes (measured in inches) manufactured by DME include the 810 (8 x 10); 1012 (10 x 12); 1215 (12 x 15) and 1518 (15 x 18). Each of these standard sizes are available for use in either hot chamber i.e. DC-1215-Z (whereas the "z" is for hot chamber or cold chamber applications i.e. DC-1215-A. whereas the "A" represents cold chamber. Both the "A" series and the "Z" series are available in Standard Duty DC-1215-A and Heavy Duty configurations DC-1215-A-HD whereas the "HD" represents "Heavy Duty". Lastly, any of the above configurations are available as a single unit holder DCS-1215-A-HD (note the "S" after the "DC") or as double master unit holder DC-1215-A-HD (note double is assumed and is signified by the lack of the "S" after the "DC"). DME unit die inserts can be changed in a matter of minutes allowing for quick changes from one part to the next. Additionally, the DME double unit die holders can run completely different parts at the same time because of the ability to hold two different inserts at the same time.
